It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Griggs McGarity, age 81, who left us peacefully on June 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 18, 1944, in Charlotte, Griggs dedicated his life to his family and community, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Tifany McGarity; his daughter, Melissa Crenshaw, and her husband Paul, who blessed him with three wonderful grandchildren: Chandler, Grace, and Cash. He is also survived by his daughter, Lindsay McGarity, who blessed him with her son, Levi (aka Chef Jeff), as well as his son, Brian McGarity.
Throughout his life, Griggs was a pillar of strength and kindness, helping to raise his three children and nurturing his four grandchildren with love and wisdom. His legacy of compassion, laughter, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held and details will shared soon.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
